Tracking decision makers under uncertainty
نویسنده
چکیده
Eye tracking is used to investigate the procedures used in choice problems between two lotteries. Eye movement patterns in problems where the deliberation process is clearly identified are used to make inferences in problems where the deliberation process is less straightforward. The data provide little support for the hypothesis that decision makers use exclusively an expected utility type of calculation. Instead eye patterns indicate that decision makers often compare prizes and probabilities separately. This is particularly true when the calculations involved in comparing the lotteries are complicated. Key-words: Decision Making, Expected Utility, Eye tracking, Neuroeconomics, Similarity. Enhancement of Robust Tracking Performance via Switching Supervisory Adaptive Control
When the process is highly uncertain, even linear minimum phase systems must sacrifice desirable feedback control benefits to avoid an excessive ‘cost of feedback’, while preserving the robust stability. In this paper, the problem of supervisory based switching Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT) control is proposed for the control of highly uncertain plants. According to this strategy, the unce...
متن کاملA Nadir Compromise Programming for Supplier Selection Problem under Uncertainty
Supplier selection is one of the influential decisions for effectiveness of purchasing and manufacturing policies under competitive conditions of the market. Regarding the fact that decision makers (DMs) consider conflicting criteria for selecting suppliers, multiple-criteria programming is a promising approach to solve the problem. This paper develops a nadir compromise programming (NCP) model...
متن کاملMany-objective robust decision making for managing an ecosystem with a deeply uncertain threshold response
Managing ecosystems with deeply uncertain threshold responses and multiple decision makers poses nontrivial decision analytical challenges. The problem is imbued with deep uncertainties because decision makers do not know or cannot converge on a single probability density function for each key parameter, a perfect model structure, or a single adequate objective. The existing literature on manag...
متن کاملInterval-Valued Hesitant Fuzzy Method based on Group Decision Analysis for Estimating Weights of Decision Makers
In this paper, a new soft computing group decision method based on the concept of compromise ratio is introduced for determining decision makers (DMs)' weights through the group decision process under uncertainty. In this method, preferences and judgments of the DMs or experts are expressed by linguistic terms for rating the industrial alternatives among selected criteria as well as the relativ...
متن کاملUsing mechanisms built in a design class to test methods for decision under uncertainty
An approach for testing methods for decision-making under uncertainty has been proposed by the authors and their coworkers. The testing approach uses data for which the generating mechanism and probability distribution is unknown. The approach simulates a very large number of decisions and outcomes of uncertain events to test methods. The study presented in this paper follows the above approach...
